‘Author Talk Interview Session’ was created to promote fellow authors and their work. The interview questions will spotlight the guest writer, show them love, peace, and respect by allowing them to tell you about their books, other projects and plans to promote. It is also designed to give an author who reads the blog interview posted, insights on how they can grow and share in this huge literary field. This blog interviews will be posted on Facebook, Google, Goodreads, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Twitter, and NetworkedBlogs.
RAVEN’S MISSION STATEMENT: I firmly believe God’s way of doing business is the best method. When we join hands with each other it not only helps us learn and grow it creates bonds between fellow authors. As team players, we learn to share instead of competing, grasping and grabbing for recognition and financial gain.
I want to welcome Michael and Mary Findley to Author Talk Interview Session. I met Mark through Christian Indie Authors. Once she and I connected, I learned a lot about her, her husband, and their work. This husband and wife team will inspire any new author. I hope you enjoy their review as much as I did.
We are Michael and Mary Findley, Christian educators for over 30 years in many parts of the country. We have three grown children and travel in a tractor trailer as hubby drives and we blog, publish, and edit and design covers and graphics for other authors. We have homeschooled, taught in Christian schools, directed Children’s Church ministries and taught Sunday School for adults and children. We have created videos for cable television, infomercials and public awareness videos, as well as teaching videos and 3D fiction productions. We graduated from Bob Jones University. Michael has a BA in Bible and an MA in Church History with postgrad coursework in Math, Science, Physics and Computer Science. Mary has a BA in English.

- How many books do you have published?
By the time this interview publishes, we will have over 50 titles.
- Who is your publisher?
Findley Family Video Publications – we do everything ourselves from editing to cover design
- What are you promoting at the moment?
Two series – a. The Hittites, short, ancient historical fiction setting the record straight about ice age civilizations, and b. The Great Thirst – a serial archeological mystery for middle-grades and up about a missing copy of the Scriptures on gold tablets
- Do you enjoy meeting people and promoting your work?
I really don’t like talking to people in person, but we promote with other authors, tweet about our works, and have a blog to spread the word about what we believe and write.
- Would you travel and do speaking engagements to promote your book(s)?
We already travel all the time, since hubby drives tractor trailer and we live in our truck. The problem is we don’t have the ability to carry physical books. They tend to get torn up as we bump down the road. We do show people our blog and books online.
- List some places you would like to visit and meet fans?
Looking forward to attending the Christian Indie Network Authors and Readers Convention in Davenport, Iowa this July/August.
- Tell us your successful methods of promoting?
Combination of regular blog posts and tweeting seems to get the most notice. Our blog has over 2000 followers and our Bible studies and current events related to biblical worldview have been the most popular topics.
- Are you planning to write more books?
Definitely. Will expand our homeschool curriculum and continue the series listed above, plus focus on writing shorter works, especially fiction as a more appealing medium to communicate our worldview.
- Where can we purchase your work?
All our books are linked at our blog Here is the page to find our works by genre. https://elkjerkyforthesoul.wordpress.com/our-books-by-genre/
You will find Amazon world links (and Smashwords links for other formats besides Kindle.), plus they are available through iTunes, Kobo, Barnes&Noble, and other online retailers. Most of our major titles are also in print, linked on the Amazon pages.
- In what formats can we purchase your book(s)? (ex. a. paperback b. E-book c. audio)
All are in Ebook format and most are also in paperback. Our monthly bandwidth on the road is limited, so we can’t do the sampling and downloading necessary for audiobooks at this time.
- How can we keep up with your journey?
Visit us at our blog or like our Facebook page.
If your book gets chosen for a movie, who would you like to play the main characters?
I would love to see Hugh Jackman play most any of my male characters.
