‘Author Talk Interview Session’ was created to promote fellow authors and their work. The interview questions will spotlight the guest writer, show them love, peace, and respect by allowing them to tell you about their books, other projects and plans to promote. It is also designed to give an author who reads the blog interview posted, insights on how they can grow and share in this huge literary field. This blog interviews will be posted on Facebook, Goodreads, LinkedIn and NetworkedBlogs.
RAVEN’S MISSION STATEMENT: I firmly believe God’s way of doing business is the best method. When we join hands with each other it not only helps us learn and grow it creates bonds between fellow authors. As team players we learn to share instead of competing, grasping and grabbing for recognition and financial gain.
GUEST: MARIAN BAAY
I want to welcome my friend and fellow author, Marian Baay. Marian was one of the first authors who became one of my Facebook friends and she has continued to follow me and give me helpful advice at times. She is an amazing writer. I hope this blog will encourage you to follow her journey and buy her books.
Marian Baay lives in the Netherlands, together with her husband and dog, near the North Sea. She enjoys reading a good book, hiking in the woods, dunes, or nature reserves. As a lover of animals, she has always had various pets to brighten her world. In the outdoors, her imagination runs wild and seeds for stories are planted there.
Marian likes to read and write in various genres, but romance is an important ingredient in her stories. The love between a man and woman is such a wonderful gift from God that she likes to add a touch of that heavenly delight into all her stories.

Marian Baay (copy/pasted) questionnaire answers:
- What genre do you write?
Christian (Historical) Romance Fiction.
- What inspired you to write?
Actually, I had never given writing much serious thought. When an author friend asked me to write for a series that he was editing, I decided to give it a try. So, in the first place he was the person that inspired me to write. I discovered that I enjoyed it and kept writing.
- What have you written?
I have written several stories in several genres, but have only published American Civil War short stories.
- How many books do you have published?
So far 3 short stories.
- Who is your publisher?
Helping Hands Press
- What are you promoting at the moment?
I’m always promoting the work of several of my author friends in Facebook groups. I think every author should have a friend who is willing to promote for him/her. Some readers don’t like to see authors promote their own work. So I hope by promoting their work, readers who would usually skip the self-promoting ads by those authors, will take the chance to read their work anyway.
- Do you enjoy meeting people and promoting your work?
I like meeting new people on Facebook, but I’m not a big fan of the other social media sites, like Pinterest and Twitter. At first I didn’t like to promote my own work, but after a while I got used to it, but actually I rather promote other author’s work.
- Would you travel and do speaking engagements to promote your book(s)?
I live in the Netherlands and my work is published in the US, so that is not an option.
- List some places you would like to visit and meet fans?
I’d love to see the Canadian Rockies one day. If I have fans there who’d like to meet me, then that would be nice.
- Tell us your successful methods of promoting?
Have someone else promote your work on social media, especially in the book groups on Facebook.
- Are you planning to write more books?
Yes, but I’m not sure yet in what genre. I’m still thinking about that.
- Where can we purchase your work?
Also available at Barnes & Noble and Kobo.
- In what formats can we purchase your book(s)? (ex. a. paperback b. E-book c. audio)
- How can we keep up with your journey?
Facebook author page: https://www.facebook.com/MarianBaayAuthor
Or send me a friend request on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/marian.baay.3
- Is there a way for fans to ask you questions?
Anyone can contact me on Facebook or send an email using the contact form on my blog.
Fun question: If your book gets chosen for a movie, who would you like to play the main characters?
